For all you creative minds out there, this Saturday we are finally painting the RSR mural!
We've primed the backdrop and it's ready for paint. We need your help! Come out and collaborate on a large scale art project. It's about an 8'x20' space. I have an idea in mind and will sketch it out on paper so we all have the same road map....think sunflowers and sun rising into the dark morning sky :)
Victor, graffiti and tattoo artist, will be helping us with the Rising Sun Ranch lettering and our logo.
We will start approximately around 11 AM and work no later than 4/5 PM.
Forecast for Saturday is...well, HOT. Bring your swim suits as we will want to be in and out of the pool throughout the day. The mural is in the pool area so it works out! We will provide refreshments and snacks on the deck. Please bring a reusable water bottle/container, swim suite, towel and anything else that you feel you may need to be comfortable.
If anyone has paint or paint brushes they would like to donate, PLEASE let me know! Otherwise we will be picking up paint and providing paint brushes.
Please contact us at email@example.com if you plan on coming this Saturday.
See ya there!
This last weekend was an awesome break from the ranch. we were able to get a great start on Nik and carissas garden and set the stage for what our community gardening outreach program might look like. Its so much more fun to drink a beer and garden with 10 of your friends than it is to dig a hole by yourself and we got a ton of stuff done!
- designed garden zones and lay out
- trenched and installed 300ft of 1/2' irrigation line with 11 sprinklers
- two port timer for garden and cold frame
- built a 4 shelf seed starter cold frame with timed misters
- compost tea and worm bin system
- planted over 200 seeds
- went through a lot of wonderful San Diego brewed beer!!!
All in all id say it was a pretty productive weekend. give it a few weeks until them seeds are started guys and we will be back for the planting party.
We are excited to announce that RSR has finally come to a point where we can open our gates to the public for community gardening.

Members will have the chance to do some yoga, have a great breakfast do some meditation or use one of the workshops/spaces to work on your art project. Sunday is basically a free day with a few guidlines and boundary limitations but with the focus on creating and expressing our individual selves. Come sunset the board of directors will gather around the fire once again to hold our weekly chapter meeting.
